Tony McGettigan
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. McGettigan has over 15 years experience in consumer electronics holding leadership positions in manufacturing, product development, business development and business unit management.
Mr. McGettigan spent 7 years managing the projection display component business at Optical Coating Laboratory Inc. and JDS Uniphase. In addition, he is a prominent figure in the projection display industry and is a recognized expert in both the technology and commercial aspects of the sector. Prior to working in projection display, Tony held various management positions in the inkjet printing business at Hewlett-Packard where he drove the extension of their technology from desktop printing to digital photography.
Mr. McGettigan received his MSME and MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he graduated with full fellowship. He received his BSME (Summa Cum Laude) from University College Dublin.
John Pena
Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing
John Pena drives LUXIM’s strategic sales and marketing activities. He brings nearly two decades of lighting experience to the company.
Prior to LUXIM, Mr. Pena served as Commercial General Manager at Philips Lighting Gardco. Before that, he spent 12 years at Cooper Lighting in a series of increasingly responsible positions. He joined in Engineering management, becoming Director of Engineering and leading Product Development. Expanding beyond technology, Mr. Pena later took on leadership roles in marketing and ended his tenure at the company as Vice President of Sales for the West Coast. Throughout his career, Mr. Pena has charted new strategic sales and product marketing initiatives that broadened market share and increased profit margins.
Mr. Pena holds an MBA degree from Emory University in Atlanta, with a focus on international business. He also holds a BSIE degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering from ITT Tech in Cicero, Illinois.
Colin Fisher
CFO
Colin has over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and human resources administration. He has worked domestically and abroad for Fortune 500, mid-cap and venture-funded private companies, including Bank of America, Automatic Data Processing, Cypress Semiconductor, VLSI Technology, Miradia, Inc., and most recently, GTronix, Inc. He has successfully facilitated organizational expansions, equity and debt financings, and merger and acquisition activities for venture-funded technology companies. Colin received a B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University and his MBA from Santa Clara University.
David Wetle
Vice President of Engineering and Technology
David Wetle brings to LUXIM over 25 years of technical leadership experience in the research and engineering of commercial networking solutions. Mr. Wetle is responsible for LUXIM’s product architecture and development.
Prior to joining LUXIM, Mr. Wetle spent 4 years as Vice President of Hardware Development at Soma Networks. He oversaw the RF design of microwave radio base station and customer premise equipment. Prior to that, he led the hardware development for Hammerhead Systems on a carrier grade-networking switch. Mr. Wetle has also held Vice President of Hardware positions in optical switching and VoIP.
Mr. Wetle received his BSEE from San Jose State University and an MSEE from Santa Clara University.
Randy Reid
Vice President of Marketing
Randy Reid comes to LUXIM with over 20 years of leadership experience in the field of energy efficient “Green” lighting. Mr. Reid is responsible for LUXIMs Strategic Product Planning, Marketing Communications and Application Engineering.
Prior to joining LUXIM, Mr. Reid was Executive Vice President for the US Division of Metrolight, Inc, a leading eHID company. He established the North America operation in 2002.
Mr. Reid has helped shape the area lighting market. He held the position of President for the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. IES is the recognized technical illumination authority responsible for communicating information on all aspects of good lighting practices to the lighting community. Mr. Reid served on the LIGHTFAIR Management Committee, 2001 - 2003 and on the LIGHTFAIR Advisory Committee in 2006. Mr. Reid is the Chairman for IESNA’s Annual Conference in 2010.
Mr. Reid is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the U.S. Army Reserve. He holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Alabama and an MBA from the University of Tennessee.
Geoff Brown
Vice President of Sales
Geoff Brown manages LUXIM's sales team and new opportunity development. Mr. Brown previously held global sales responsibility as Vice President of Business Development and Sales for Optillion, and prior to that he was the Director of Sales for Raychem’s Circuit Protection Division responsible for Europe and the Americas. During his 18 years in business he has worked closely with existing customers and prospects to understand their needs, translate those needs into product opportunities, and manage those opportunities to a selling proposition in the marketplace.
Prior to joining LUXIM Mr. Brown was Global Director of Product Management for Tyco Electronics' Elo TouchSystems business unit. Elo TouchSystems is the leading brand in touch technology, encompassing the largest selection of touchscreen technologies, touchmonitors and touchcomputers in the world. At Elo Mr. Brown was responsible for the maintenance and implementation of Elo’s product strategy, cross-functional product design, and go-to-market product pipeline.
Prior to Raychem, Brown was a lieutenant in the United States Navy. Brown earned his BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University where he was the recipient of the Phi Beta Kappa Prize, and the James Hayes-Edgar Palmer Prize in Engineering.
Ming Tan
Vice President of Business Development - China
Ming leads LUXIM’s business development efforts through out China. He has extensive experience setting up high tech operations and is responsible for expanding LUXIM’s business interests within China.
Prior to joining LUXIM, Ming was a Senior Consultant in Suzhou China dedicated to developing markets for tooling in the solar and semiconductor industries. Prior to that he was the Engineering Director and Core Team Lead for new product development and launch at Seagate. In addition, Ming has held several engineering positions including Program Manager and he was responsible for setting up on-site support for Seagate in Shenzhen, Wuxi, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
Mr. Tan holds an engineering degree from Shanghai University of Technology.
Kulwant Sandhu
Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain
Kulwant Sandhu brings to LUXIM 20 years of global supply chain management and materials planning experience in high volume manufacturing. Ms. Sandhu manages global operational activities, by planning, organizing, and directing all activities of global manufacturing operations, manage worldwide supply chain and contract manufacturers.
Prior to joining LUXIM, Ms. Sandhu spent 3 years as the Director of Materials at MIASOLE where she was responsible for setting up the purchasing, supply chain, warehouse and logistics departments in the US and in China. Prior to that she spent 7 years at MAXTOR Corporation which was purchased by SEAGATE Technology in 2006. She was responsible for the performance metrics of Sales Fulfillment, Operations Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Control, World wide Supply Chain, Warehouse and Logistics departments.
Ms. Sandhu received her MBA from UOP, a Masters of Arts in Economics from Punjab University, India and a BA in Political Science and Economics from Punjab University , India.
Richard Gilliard
Chief Scientist
Dr. Gilliard comes to LUXIM with over 25 years experience in the invention, design and manufacturing of high intensity discharge lamps (HID). He began his career at General Electric Company where he did pioneering work on metal halide and high pressure mercury lamps.
After leaving GE, Dr. Gilliard held a number of leadership roles in the development of high intensity discharge lamps working for companies such as UVP, ILC, Perkin Elmer and most recently llluminate. Dr. Gilliard's work has led to several ground breaking patents and the successful commercialization of a series of HID lamp products.
Dr. Gilliard has a BS Degree from the US Military Academy at West Point, an MS in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Janet Brant
Office / HR Manager
Ms. Brant brings to LUXIM a high level of experience in human resources and business process management. Her responsibilities include staffing, training and the establishment of efficient business policies and procedures.
Ms. Brant made the move to LUXIM from the online media division at Reuters where she operated in the role of Executive Assistant to the CTO. There she managed logistics for trade events and conferences worldwide. As an early contributor at Netscape, Ms. Brant was a Project Administrator at that company responsible for human resources and corporate policies continuing through its acquisition by AOL in 1998.
Prior to these responsibilities, Ms. Brant spent 20 years as Consultant at People Performance Programs, Inc., a human resources management consulting company.
