SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 31, 2011—In a keynote address delivered yesterday at the National Clean Energy Summit 4.0: The Future of Energy held in Las Vegas, Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid [D-NV] singled out LUXIM’s Light Emitting Plasma [LEP] technology, calling it the “light of the future”. Citing the tiny bulb as an example of clean technology innovated in the United States, Senator Reid praised LUXIM for its engineering ingenuity and commitment to delivering sustainable light source solutions that cut energy consumption in half and improve the environment.
LUXIM’s technology was on display during the day-long event which gathered senior public officials, energy policy innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and industry executives. Notable participants included Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary Steven Chu and California Governor Jerry Brown, among others. They joined discussions on technologies, policies and strategies to advance the United States’ competitiveness in the global clean-tech economy.
The summit was hosted by the Center for American Progress, Clean Energy Project, MGM Resorts InternationalM, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
